How We Roast Coffee

```
From Green Bean to Your Daily Cup
Coffee roasting is the process that transforms raw green coffee beans into the flavourful beans you grind and brew at home. At Purresso, we take roast quality seriously - it’s one of the biggest influences on flavour, balance and aroma in your cup.
Our coffee is roasted in a high‑precision, air‑based roaster that gives us exceptional control over heat and airflow. Unlike traditional drum roasters, this method uses direct hot air, which helps develop clean, vibrant flavours without overcooking the beans.
Air Roasted
Cleaner Flavour
Less surface burning means brighter, smoother taste.
Even Roasting
Constant movement and airflow ensure the beans are roasted throughout.
Precision Control
We can adjust heat instantly to achieve the exact flavour profile we want.
Our roasters are designed with sustainability in mind, using up to 80% less gas than conventional coffee roasters.
The Art and Science of Roasting
Once the beans reach their desired roast level, they’re cooled with air inside the roaster. This stops the roasting process instantly and prevents overcooking.
After roasting, coffee releases carbon dioxide (CO₂), a natural by‑product of the process. We let the beans rest before dispatching them, so they’re well‑rounded and delicious from the moment you open the bag.
Coffee roasting is both an art and a science, it’s about understanding how heat transforms a bean and how to bring out its best characteristics. That’s what our roasters aim for every day: a delicious, consistent roast that highlights the unique personality of each coffee.
