When we created our first limited edition coffee, we wanted it to stand for something bigger than great coffee alone.
Every Purresso coffee helps support rescue cats, but with our first limited edition we wanted to shine a spotlight on a group that too often goes unnoticed.
Black and black-and-white cats make up a significant proportion of the cats that come into The Stray Cat Club's care. While there are many reasons for this, they can often be overlooked by potential adopters due to outdated superstitions, cultural perceptions or simply because they're harder to photograph.
The Tuxedo Cat celebrates these incredible cats while helping raise awareness and support the rescue work that gives them a second chance. Because every cat deserves to be seen for who they are, not the colour of their fur.
Of all the cats cared for by The Stray Cat Club have been black/black & white cats.

longer spent waiting to find their forever home.
Old Myths
For centuries, black cats have been surrounded by myths and superstitions. While most of us know they're just that, these old beliefs can still influence perceptions today.
First Impressions Matter
Dark coats can be more difficult to capture in photographs, especially on busy adoption websites where first impressions matter. That can sometimes mean black cats don't stand out as quickly as lighter-coloured cats.
More Than Their Fur
Every cat deserves to be judged by their personality, not the colour of their fur. The Tuxedo Cat was created to celebrate these incredible cats and help raise awareness of the challenges they can face.
Grown in the volcanic valleys surrounding Antigua, Guatemala, The Tuxedo Cat combines notes of rich cocoa, jammy sweetness of blackberry compote and a smooth brown sugar finish. Whether brewed as an espresso or filter coffee, it's a cup that's as refined as its namesake.
More importantly, every bag helps support The Stray Cat Club, with £1 donated from this purchase to help rescue cats in need.
Every purchase of The Tuxedo Cat helps support The Stray Cat Club's incredible rescue work. Behind every statistic is a cat with their own story, personality and second chance.
Here are just a few of the black and black-and-white cats who've been given that opportunity.
Herbie
Herbie arrived at The Stray Cat Club after suffering terrible abuse, with severe injuries that sadly led to part of his tail being amputated. Despite everything he'd been through, he remained a gentle, affectionate boy who quickly stole everyone's hearts. Today, Herbie is thriving in his forever home alongside children, another cat and a dog, proving just how resilient rescue cats can be.
Ninja
Ninja arrived at The Stray Cat Club at just eight months old after growing up outdoors with his mum, dad, brother and five younger siblings. Having never lived indoors, it took him a little time to learn that people could be trusted. With patience and love, Ninja found the perfect family and today he's thriving in the home he always deserved.
Seagull
Seagull arrived with her sister, Pelican, after the pair were threatened with being dumped when they were no longer wanted. Despite their sweet nature, they were turned away by several charities because of their appearance before finally finding a loving forever home with someone who adores them both.
Pat
Pat was one of five kittens rescued from a rooftop in a dramatic rescue involving the fire brigade and a community determined to help. Now, Pat and her sister Lily are the last of the litter still waiting to find their forever home together.
Mimosa & Mango
Mimosa and Mango are two of Maple's seven kittens. Without The Stray Cat Club's care, it's unlikely the whole litter wouldn't have survived after their mum was found outside. Thanks to the dedication of the team, these playful siblings are now healthy, thriving and ready to find their forever homes.
Sumac
Sumac is one of Sassafras' eight kittens, born just days after their mum arrived safely into The Stray Cat Club's care. Without that timely rescue, this beautiful family may never have had the chance they deserved. Now, Sumac and her siblings are ready to find their forever homes.
Coconut & Kittens
Coconut was found as a stray and taken to a local vet after being discovered alone in a garden. With no owner ever coming forward, she and her six kittens were given a safe place to begin again. Today, Coconut's little family are searching for the loving forever homes they deserve.
Whether it's providing food, veterinary treatment or simply giving another cat a safe place to stay while they wait for a forever home, every purchase helps The Stray Cat Club continue their rescue work.
